You know what I love about the autumn real estate market? Although there may be fewer homes coming to market, those that do, show that the owners have taken the time (probably the summer) to update, clean, and really prep their homes to sell. And this is a really good strategy... because not only are sellers in competition with one another, they're in competition with the upcoming holiday season... as people start thinking about putting money down for a home, they think, ah... but how much do I need to put aside for Christmas and all its trappings (gifts, decor, holiday clothing, parties).

Although we ALL say we can see BEYOND the clutter and mess... what we do, is add $$ (dollar signs) to the price of the home - so that it will be in great condition for us to move in. And often, we OVERESTIMATE the cost of doing things. So this is where having an experienced agent, as well as someone who buys to fix-and-flip, or buys to fix-and-rent frequently as an advisor.
