MarketWATCH Northridge: Labor Day edition

So, something interesting has happened this past week... a slight softening in the market. Why? Well, this happens each year around Back-to-school time... we're so busy prepping kids for school, and getting back into the extracurricular activities, that there's no time to prep a home for sale, or even look for a home. We're all so consumed & a bit overwhelmed at the increased pace of life, that we put all but urgent on the back burner. And that's perfectly fine. Once we get back into the routine, things will pick up again... people wanting to sell before Christmas will start prepping their homes in the next month, and in late September & early October, we'll see a bit of a jump in new listings. So, as a buyer, now is actually a good time to keep an eye out... not only on new listings, but on those that may have been sitting a while. There may be a bit more room to negotiate than when every home was going into multiple-offer competition. This week in Northridge, we saw 19 listings added, ranging in price from $288,000 - $1,699,000; and in size from 1245sf - 5653sf. Now let's take a look at a couple that caught my eye.
